Fraser fir is native to the southern Appalachian mountains and is now widely grown on well-drained fertile soils as the "Cadillac of Christmas trees" because of its blue/green color and excellent needle retention as a cut tree. They are native to the Appalachian Mountains and have adapted to much of the northern US and are widely used for Christmas trees and landscapes. Hardiness zones are 4 to 7.
