Canaan fir plug seedlings / Favors

Please remember that we are trying to rid our farm and the world of plastics.  If you don't need plastic bags, please don't order them.  Since the seedlings are moist when we ship them, we prefer not to put the seedlings in burlap or other bags for shipment - we would package them separately in the same box, unless you order them that way, of course.

Canaan fir plug seedlings are grown from seeds collected in a Pennsylvania seed orchard.  (Abies intermedia or Abies balsamea var. phaneropelis)  To us, a faster-growing fir with some similarities to both balsam fir and Fraser fir can withstand both wetter and hotter conditions and poorer soil qualities.  Like most evergreens, prefers full sun.  The plugs are 1.5 years old with two growing seasons in the greenhouse and one over-winter outside in zone 4 conditions.
